2 Peter 1:5-7 NIV “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
Self control – is a fruit of the spirit that activates your mind and thought control.
As Joyce Myers has said ‘the battlefield is the mind.’ There is where we win or lose!
The three Hebrew men called Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego won with a mindset of trusting and being obedient to God not matter the consequences. After being tried by fire, those boys were promoted. Why? Because they said no to the directions of the culture! We grow spiritually when we say no to the enemy and yes to God.
II Corinthians KJV “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.”
What is a stronghold?
A stronghold is when the enemy digs in and captures an area of your thought process.
How does it get there?
1. Fear – that paralyzes relationships
2. Lies – that cause fear and anxiety. Like ‘he will not love you if you tell him no-- Go ahead everyone is doing it.’
3. Doubt – that comes in form of a question. ‘Can you really trust him?’ ‘Do you think he will follow- through?’
How do I get rid of a stronghold?
The Word says to pull it up by exposing the root of the stronghold. You have to take action. You have to align your thoughts with the Word. You have to behave in a manner that is pleasing to God—to pull it up. Stop believing Satanic lies; guard your heart and watch over it. Grace is not an excuse to live a sloppy life. We must stop praying for God to do something that we need to do. Stay away from worry and anxiety- work on having mental wholeness.
Satan’s goal is to destroy your relationships with friends and family. Having a great relationship requires effort, trust, communication, and forgiveness.
The scripture says – we are more than conquerors in Christ. What does that mean? Getting our mind and attitude thinking rightly; building up ourselves in our most holy faith and trusting God to help you pull up those roots! We have such power- we can change our thinking which changes our behavior! Until the Next Inspiration!

1 Corinthians 13: 1-3 KJV “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.”
Matthew 22: 37 says, that the greatest commandment it to love the Lord your God with all your heart.
Matthew 22:39 says, the second greatest commandment is to love you neighbor as yourself.
My wife Donna and I just came back from London and while we were gone we discovered that the British people are not stiffs as we were told. They were very polite and open to the love of God.
Paul said in I Corinthians 13: 13 that Faith, Hope and Love abide but the greatest of the three is love.
The scripture goes on to say that the fruit of the Spirit if first love. Where does it begin? What is the origin of its beginning?
All relationships are developed: however, it begins with someone in the relationship loving first. The scripture says that God so love the world that he gave His only begotten son and nothing can separate us from the love of God. The Love walk begins with Him loving us first.
Respect is earned and TRUST is developed: Those things that can be shaken will be shaken. Job said though He slay me yet will I trust in Him. Paul said think it not strange the fiery trials that come upon you but rejoice in it. Trust is developed over time as the relationship grows. He loved us we love Him, He trust us and we trust Him. I asked the question which is most important love or trust? I believe trust is very important but can only be sustained by love. Galatians 5:6 says that “…faith works by love.” His love toward us is unshakable; our love toward Him is shakable. It is only through the unshakable love of God that faith can work. Trust is developed and we began spiritual maturity.
Hope is developed and engaged during a crisis experience: It is when we have a crisis or we get ready to leave this earth that LOVE, TRUST and HOPE come to full maturity. The three of them kiss when we are promoted to forever be with the Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
The reconciliation means: www.dictionary.com the process of making compatible.
II Corinthians 5: 18-19 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Paraphrased; all things are of God who started the process of making us compatible to Himself by Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of compatibility. That God was in Christ making the world compatible unto Himself, not charging us with our sins but committed unto us the process of becoming compatible with Him making it possible for us to be with Him in heaven.
This is why love never gives up! Always looks for the best! Never looks back! If we talk with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, we are nothing but a tinkling cymbal. If we speak God's Word with power, revealing all the mysteries of the bible, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but we don't love, we are nothing! If we give everything we own to the poor but we don't love them, we are bankrupt.
Without a relationship with the Father where there is a mutual exchange of love, trust and hope we are nothing. Think about it!

Acts 3:6-8 KJV "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God."
What a story! Can I get a WITNESS?
A certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried and laid daily at the gate of the temple. Forty years he had been crippled depending on people to bring him to this gate; the gate called Beautiful. It was indeed an impressive sight. Much of it was made from Corinthian bronze and inlaid with the gold of Orphir. Yet, sitting under its magnificent beauty-- we find human suffering.
The lame man asked alms from all who entered the gate and people would give him money feeling sorry for him because of his condition. Then one day shortly after the Holy Spirit was poured out and the new infant Spirit filled church began, Peter and John walked up to the gate and said, look at us! Fix your eyes on us! The lame man fastened his eyes on theirs expecting to receive something; then Peter said, “Silver and gold have I none. But such as I have I will give to you.” Peter was saying, open your heart and accept this life transforming power in the Name of Jesus, get up and walk. Peter took him by the hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. He leaped up, stood and walked and started leaping. Walking, leaping, and praising God!
The lame man had never been able to stand and walk. He had never been able to run and play likes the other boys. Just think of the opportunities that he was denied because of his affliction.
Now look at the metamorphosis that took place in the lame man’s life. As a result of his miracle, he was changed. Not only was he healed, but joy flooded his soul. He was leaping and praising God. Now that’s transformation!
What did this miracle mean to this man? He could walk, he could work, he could live a full life, and he could care for himself. It meant that God loved him! It meant he could leap with JOY!
In a Spirit filled church, five elements are activated when people are empowered by Jesus to witness.
1. Expectancy!
2. Healing!
3. Joy!
4. Wonder!
5. Witness!
What this lame man needed was the HEALING POWER of GOD! Talk about a witness! Wait till he goes home! No one will carry him! He will run home and tell everyone look what has happened to me! He expected something and he got it! He was healed, joy flooded his soul, people were filled with wonder and he became a witness of the healing power of God.
What we see in the life of this man is a picture of the tragedy of the human condition. How many people are hurting? Lonely, sad and afraid of facing tomorrow? Crippled inside and lame in heartache; for everyone who is crippled physically, there are literally tens of thousands who are crippled emotionally. And there are hundreds of thousands who are crippled spiritually.
How do we share the Gospel to people in a mobile, secular society, especially those who appear to be self-sufficient? They live in a nice house, manicured lawns, at least two nice cars, fine clothes, children who are doing well in school, great jobs, and plenty of money. What more could they need? THEY NEED A WITNESS!
True witnessing always follows a pattern:
1. First, God does something that only God can do, that man cannot.
2. The person who’s touched by God tells what happened. That is what witnessing is. Telling others what Jesus did for you!
I Peter 3:15 “Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”
Colossians 4: 5-6 “walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.”
How many of our friends appear outwardly to be doing OK, yet inwardly they’re begging for help?
Many people today are:
• Over-extended financially
• Marriage falling apart
• Job hanging by a thread
Can you hear the pain? Do you hear the whisper? Help Me! Self-esteem gone; lonely- friends don’t know what I am going through. Depressed and don’t know where to turn.
Help Me! You have the answer to the world’s hurt and pain. Tell them about how Jesus healed your heart, how He set you free, delivered you from pain and gave your soul peace. People are waiting for their miracle – don’t disappoint them!
